Can you see Seattle Submerged? Although we have no definite date on the definable devastating disaster, we know that Seattle will soon be seriously submerged indefinitely. No one knows for sure when we will see such as seismic event only that there is plate tectonic forces underneath the region which will eventually give way to the destruction.
Those who desire to live in the area should be forewarned that it is not if, but when. Indeed in our own human projected life spans it may not occur, but it will occur that is known. Currently the tectonic action is shifting the Vancouver Island out to sea. Of course the human eye would not notice but our high-tech sensors have. In fact there are small but telling action which is taking place deep beneath the Earth which signals to scientists that the big quake could be less than 200-year out.
Some geologists are concerned as last month they actually moved three-millimeters in only a few days and that is way too fast for normal plate tectonic motion. There is the possibility of a Mega-Thrust would could trigger an event the size of the Indonesia Quake and Tsunami right here in the United States. The land records and sedimentary layers seem to show a 400-500 year cycle for West Coast mega-thrust type quakes. The last one was said to be in January of 1700 and thus could re-occur at any time between now and 2250. There will be a mega-thrust Earthquake in that region but no one can tell you exactly when.
Each time we have a slip event such as the deep Earthquakes, which caused the 3-millimeter event shown by satellite measurements, we risk it triggering the BIG ONE as they say. This means soon we could see Seattle seriously submerged triggered by a subtle shaking and seismic event like we have never known in our civilization. Think about it.
